Hyke
The year is 2021. As a result of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, authorities encouraged people across the country to spend more time at home. National and local infection control measures led people to make greater use of their local areas to stay active. According to Statistics Norway, 77% of the Norwegian population went for walks in 2020. When walking in the same area, it can be difficult to find new and varied routes, and walking the same path every day eventually becomes tedious. It is therefore reasonable to assume there is a need for a tool that helps people find routes.

Design process: Concept proposals
Based on the problem statement, we developed two ideas for potential apps. Both shared the same core concept: finding walks based on the user's preferences.Idé A – SocialA social media app for walking. In addition to basic features, users could share photos from their walks and invite friends to join them.Idé B – IndividualNo sharing with friends; instead, the focus is on the user's preferences and a sense of personal achievement. We chose to proceed with this concept because it seemed more relevant and useful, and because there are already many social apps available.
Prototyping: Low-fi and wireframes
